Lav. and Poppies

Country life is fantastic…Growing food and raising animals…Walking fields and hiking mountains… Its also a great place to raise a family and have friends over for meals and good times…..To live in the country you gotta have some stuff.. We have this stuff for our daily lives and for when we have friends and friends of those friends over for a work party or a breakfast work party… lunch work parties are good too… But we really like dinner parties after all the chores are done for the day…… Anyways we use this stuff and have this stuff for a nice clean simple country life … Really folks … you needs this stuff ….. especially if your going to live in the country...

- Big Red Barn - good for keeping stuff in, working on the tractor, meeting new friends etc. - also a good place to keep tractors out of the rain . Ive also found this a good place for changing clothes when the wife is hogging the bathroom ….

- Walking  Areas - great for getting around a ranch… you need these …. keeps you from walking on your crops and flowers...

- Strolling  Areas - different from walkin….great for talking with ranch hands or new friends… or talking with the Mrs…...

- Meadow Areas - if your going to live in the country with your Mrs…. they have to have flowers…. Try thousands of orange poppies…. That should keep the Mrs… Happy

- Old Stuff - Some people just like to have old stuff around … Rusty tools and machinery - its relaxing and nice to look at

- Picnic benches - on smaller work party days we line these up in a row for “All hands on deck dining"…..its also fun to sit down for supper with the Mrs. at one of these in the outdoor supper-room

- Wheelbarrows - great to have on hand if your tractor breaks down - these are essential for life in the country - also a good cooler on hot days

- Haybales - must have these living in the country… great for the animals…. sitting on…. dinning on… Whatever on….

- Wine barrels - they make a nice thing to put a small plate or drink during dinner time ….. also great to practice roping

- lights in trees - if ya got trees on your Ranch put lights in them… they are nice to look at during dinner - you can see your plate…..they also highlight things in the romantical kinda way… but only the lady Ranch hands talk about that stuff

- Vintage furniture - this old stuff is great for putting things in or on… also great for putting cup cakes on for the ranch hands and friends to grab after or even during supper

- Old doors - these things are great - we have learned that they can be used not only for emergency doors if one breaks on the Ranch - but also a backup table or something… very handy

- Buckets and watering cans - its essential to have these on hand at a Ranch if your growing and raising things …. Also very handy to put flowers in around the Ranch to keep the Mrs.. happy when shes pissed at ya for not gettin the chicken eggs that morning…..

- Mason Jars - these are like post-it notes - Wished I invented these things - great for drinking out of - and you can even keep food forever in these things - its called “Canning” - leave flowers for the Mrs… or a note for the UPS driver….use them for paper weights and great for tiny little tractor parts…….

- Tractors - next to a couple horses… these are essential for getting chores done around the Ranch … If your going to live in the country I highly recommend getting one of these things…. Kids also like getting rides on them and ladies like getting dropped off at the dinner table from one….

- Antique stuff - like old stuff but only older….like really old...

- Antique people - Great for having around a Ranch…. they know alot of stuff and can fix things fast ….. have some around for interesting conversations - we have a few here

- Animals - get a dog or two - cats are good for catching little critters and keeping them out of the main Ranch House - Chickens are good for eggs, eating bugs and eating too -  get a dozen or so - should do the trick - Peacocks are good to have around also - taste like chicken - also consider cows, goats and a horse or two….

* Below are somethings we have learned from many years living in the country…. just passing it along. Ill keep adding to this over time.

* What we have on the Ranch and how we do things changes from time to time depending on whats going on - chore season, growing season etc. and because country folk break things all the time    * No-Smoking in the country because its bad for the animals - especially gophers - they got little lungs    * City pets will be considered snacks by local country type critters…… We have lost a few  * Early to bed and Early to rise is a fact of life - Ranch hands usually go to bed earlier in the evening  * Have yourself some tools - you’ll be fixing stuff all the time living in the country * Creativity is amazing  * Living in the country you will need back-up generators and water supply to keep things going   * Have yourself a very good truck …. and one of them doit all talk to ya SUV type things for the Mrs….
